With much of the architecture talk in the tech world centered on projects from Amazon, Apple, Google, Nvidia and Samsung, it’s easy to forget that Facebook has been working on a new facility of its own.

Recently completed in Facebook’s hometown of Menlo Park, California, the new building is an expansion of its existing headquarters. It is described by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg as having the largest open floor plan in the world.

It’s quite literally a single room that fits thousands of people with plenty of smaller spaces for group work which according to Zuckerberg, reflects Facebook’s open and transparent culture.

On nice days, employees can head to the nine-acre park nestled on the roof of the building complete with walking trails and other spaces sprinkled with more than 400 trees. Zuckerberg said the facility – designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry – wasn’t meant to be fancy or over-the-top. Instead, he wanted people to feel how much needs to be done in order to connect the rest of the world.

The space measures just over 430,000 square feet and is LEED Gold certified by the US Green Building Council.

To celebrate the occasion, Facebook invited several of Instagram’s top photographers to have a look around the building. Photos from the walkthrough reveal a simple yet beautiful building that most anyone would be excited about working in.

I didn't occur to me that the first picture was the top of the building until I continued reading on... Originally I thought it was literally a park with buildings strewn about it. I guess this is the wave of the future for big tech companies. I wonder what form buildings will take 20 years from now

It's important to remember, while we are all gooing over this facility, that Zuckerberg's selling of your data, trends and personal information has paid for this.

Your privacy has been handed over for a bit of networking convenience and a whole lot of wealth to the few, again.

Suckers.

So, my real question is: where exactly the spot Facebook puts their drones when they're not in use? I don't see the picture here
