Fans not working with splitters

So I have gigabyte z390 d motherboard, and I got 5 case fans. The motherboard has 3 system fan headers and so I got fan splitters too. The fans are ARCTIC P12. When connecting these fans to the actual motherboard, they work, but when connecting them to fan splitters they don't work. I even got another set of splitters, thinking the previous were faulty, but the new ones also didnt work. Can someone please help me out.

The Arctic fans are 3-pin voltage controlled ones. The motherboard headers are supposed to detect whether 3- or 4-pin fans are connected and switch accordingly, but I suspect the splitters are confusing it.

Trying setting the fan control mode in the BIOS, under the Smart Fan 5 section, to Voltage instead of Auto.
