Brodi,

Got another one for you. My fiancee was looking up green tea recipes when ms security essentials suspended and removed 2 trojans. Tried updating java then got a bunch of Xs on the screen saying there was a hard disk failure asked to continue abort etc. Computer rebooted itself and now the desktop has only 4 icons on it when it was full before. Any ideas?

tried installing mbytes then tried to restart. After restart getting the X pop ups again saying disc write fail. Desktop background is now gone as well.

ok finally got mbytes to run. Doing quick scan now. looked in MSSE and it deleted Trojan: Win64/Sirefef.B and Exploit: Win32/Pdfjsc.zp

GMER only allows me to select service, registry, and files, ADS.

Heres the Mbytes log:

Yes. transferring the files back n fourth
That could be a possible culprit.

Install this on the computer we just cured (yours?)....
Install Panda USB Vaccine, or BitDefender’s USB Immunizer on your computer to protect it from any infected USB device.
Then insert USB flash drive and format it.

When your fiancee computer is clean install the above on hers as well and format USB flash drive again (if it was used again).
