ill start off by saying,
i dont have a pcie 2.0 slot, just the pcie x 16.

but the mobo can be upgraded later.

for now, i would like opinions on the gpu im about to purchase.

budget >$250 for gpu

here is a 1gb 9800gtx+ for $209, it has great reviews and some qualities i really like such as slightly smaller than my current 8800gts, stays cool and quiet , along with above average power.

here is a gtx 260 @ $229, this would push my psu a little more than the card above. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127361

i originally wanted the 9800 gx2, but then i heard about the scaling, newegg has a recertified @ $219

i do not want an ati card at this time, so im sticking with nvidia for this purchase.

the benchmarks between the two cards above are very simular, so im leaning on the 9800.

any last opinions from you guys before i make the purchase
this would be for my current rig.

thanks in advance.

edit:
since my psu isnt listed in specs, here is the info:

You do not have enough power on the +12V rails for GTX 260. Also, the 9800GTX+ is, for all practical purposes, nothing but a 55nm OC'd 8800GTS G92, which can be had for $140 or so after rebate.

I'd recommend a new PSU and the GTX 260, if you can afford it. A decent cheap PSU would be the OCZ StealthXStream 600W, which can be had for quite cheap after rebates. Another would be the fantastic Antec Earthwatts EA500.

It's your choice.

just a quick addon but at tigerdirect.com i found a superclocked 9800 gtx for like 150, just type in the search box superclocked and you'll find it
