Firefox won't close properly

Hi,

I recently installed Firefox on my HP laptop and after closing firefox (by clicking the X) the firefox process continues to run. When I try to shutdown the computer or restart the computer I get the "program not responding" with the option to End Now. Is there some way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it is the newest version.

I decided to try Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 to see if the problem persists. It turns out that the problem seems to be fixed in 1.5. Thanks for trying to help RealBlackStuff.
