If that mentality prevailed we would all still be living in the dark ages and firmly believe the world was flat. Fortunately we have progressed beyond the point were herd mentality wins the day.

Well I only just ran out of facts to state. I could, starting now, come up with those "clever" quips you're referring to, if you like. Not very good at those though.
