For Minecraft creator Markus 'Notch' Persson, life as a billionaire isn't all it's cracked up to be

This is the biggest bullshit "problem" I've ever heard of. He whines about his new life, when the "problem" is ridiculously easy to solve. If you don't like the money, give it away.

He keeps the money. He keeps the $70M home. What does that tell us?

What I think is that his problems existed well before the $1.5B showed up. (Btw, he had over $100M *before* he sold Mojang). From what I've read, I think he's depressed by nature, probably an alcoholic, and possibly other psychological issues.

The negativity and the general leeches, from even the comments here is enough to make anyone sick. At least he's discussing his life with others, you see the many other millionaires / billionaires doing stupid things. Usually then end up in the news for all the wrong reasons, all because nobody has a clue what was going on in their lives.

Also he wanted to just make something for himself. That became Minecraft which, just exploded into what it is now. All because of the community itself, despite the massive negativity from the community before. Which is another reason he dropped it because, having that on your shoulders when all you wanted is something fun.

Sure got a lot of fun I'm sure from playing around, learning things and overall having fun at the time. It became a job instead of fun, etc and we all know the whole story. Just it's like many other games, except this popularity has stuck with him all this time. Which is why we get news stories about him, I doubt many stories would be written for poor Joe the homeless out on the street right?

I just.. wonder why I even bothered reading the comments, let alone want to reply but it makes me ill to read such things. I don't honestly blame him though, being the life before was probably just enjoyable. I will say at least he has the courage to talk about things, yes it seems like "whining" to others but that's an opinion not a fact.

"you run out of reasons to keep trying and human interaction becomes impossible"
"sit around and wait for friends with jobs and families to have time to do **** while watching his reflection in the monitor."
"he found a great girl but she was afraid of him and his lifestyle and opted to go with a 'normal' person instead."

Ummmm, yeah, this still happens if even you don't have money. The name for it is "depression."

Being fortunate is not a struggle. He has the opportunity to do anything he wants. He is choosing not to do anything, and that is the problem.

Why can people be objective?
I can be objective. But I'm not gonna listen to someone talk about having problems with being rich, when his financial status is irrelevant to the problems. The problem is he is depressed rich or poor. And until he faces why he is depressed, his financial status will do nothing to help. He is falsely pointing at being wealthy as the problem. Being wealthy can be a solution, if he ever faces the real issue.

Probably isn't using his money the right way if he's so unhappy.
Once he has lost it all in the casino he'll be like: ow noes if only I had the money to do x or help x or to xxx.
