Front panel usb connectivity/compatibility question *solved*

If the motherboard has a USB 3.2 gen 2 header and the case only has a 3.0 connector that appears to have a compatible connector and pin amount/configuration, will they play nice and work at all? Like will the case ports at least support use of standard 3.0 devices when plugged into the 3.2 header or not function at all?
