full system reboot

  1. I was wondering if there is any way to fully reboot my friends computer it is absolutely covered in junk and viruses, and he said he wants to start over. Is there any way to wipe completely except for the OS because his computer didn't come with a windows OS disc.

    If it was made by a major manufacturer and is relatively new (<4 years) it will probably have a recovery partition on the hard drive (same as cds). Read the manual or check by seeing what the various F1-F12 keys do on boot.. (usually F8 is safe mode, useless unless you want to attempt fixing the problem.. try F10).
