Fusion-powered 11.6" Sony Vaio YB now available in US

  1. First available in Japan, it appears Sony's 11.6-inch Vaio YB notebook is now shipping stateside as well. US customers can order the Fusion-based ultraportable through Sony's online store and it should be available through Amazon shortly (the product page is up but it's still listed as a preorder item).

    The funny thing about this laptop is that is full featured. The Atom notebooks were all slim pickings compared to this. Is it because they believe the CPU is capable of that much more than the Atom OR because the Atom gave you limitations?

    Seems like fusion power is always "20 years away". Something tells me we aren't any closer...

    Thought Fusion would provide longer battery life than this..
  5. Fusion is capable of more than 6 hours of battery life. It is the battery that is weak. It is rated as 3600mah= 3 cell. SONY is cheating us with a weak battery since they figure Fusion is so efficient. This is a deal breaker since HP fusion model offer 4400mah = 6 cell (8 hours).
