GeForce 6800 GS Freezing/Crashing
Hello all,
A few months ago I posted a message on these boards about my graphics card not working correctly. I'm checking new posts daily and I've learned a lot of new things about it so I hope a solution can be found this time..
Some information:
This pc had problems form day one. As soon as you played a game the pc crashed and when you rebooted it you heard a beeping sound (no BSoD though). I called the Helpdesk and I was told to take out the graphics card, reboot, place the graphics card in again and it should work. It did work, for a few days and then the same problem occured again. For some reason the Helpdesk kept saying I should repeat that until the problem was gone which never happened.
I've replaced the PSU, the Graphics Card, the RAM, formatted my pc, updated all drivers, flashed the BIOS, did loads of tests to check for faulty hardware but with no results.
It only happens while playing games. Turning down the video options in-game doesn't seem to help. Even at the lowest settings the crashes keep coming. It starts with a freeze of a few seconds or sometimes a "No Signal" message, then the sound starts to repeat and I get a BSoD.
STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078. Lowering the Hardware Acceleration until the point where Directx get's disabled gets rid of the ''tearing'' (see image below) but it still freezes. Changing graphics card didn't help either as I already did that.

As soon as you alt+tab an old frame in the game gets ''stuck''. If you look at a tooltip that frame becomes normal again but as soon as you go out of the game again you will see an old frame at the part where the window appears.
I've been trying to get a solution for a long time now and I have seen a lot of people with the same problem and most of them ended up in buying a new pc which is something I can't afford..
System:
1. Motherboard: GA-8I915PM (Giga-byte)
2. Graphic interface: PCI-Express x16
3. Memory: DDR, 1024 MBytes
4. CPU: Intel Pentium 4 515
5. CPU Speed: 2.93GHz
6. Power Supply Make/Model: Sweex Low Noise (Retail, BA000110, 2 fans)
7. Watt output/Amperage: 650W, +12V 25A
(Minidump, DxDiag and MSInfo included)
Thank you for your time
