Yes, you read that right (and I don't know what to make of it). According to Videocardz.com, Gigabyte might be releasing a new version of the last-gen sensation RX 6800 XT called the "Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC Pro". It's supposed to be faster, more power hungry and have a helluva lot more OC headroom than previous RX 6800 XT cards.

Two questions immediately popped into my mind:
1) "Where has Gigabyte been hiding these high-bin Navi 21 GPUs all this time?"
2) "Why would Gigabyte release a new RX 6800 XT NOW, when their selling price is only a fraction of what it was just a year ago!"

I first heard about it watching a Gamer Meld video and thought it was complete bunk but it would seem that Videocardz is a pretty credible source for things like this because other tech outlets like HotHardware, TweakTown and TechPowerUp have covered this bizarre story.

If Gigabyte goes ahead and releases it, this card could prove to be the biggest GPU bargain of 2023! Personally, I think that they will release it because I know that I would in their shoes. They have all of these Navi 21 GPUs that they paid for (and they probably weren't cheap) so they either do something with them while they still can or they write them off as a dead loss. I think that for any business, the former is the better option because the latter is something that you try to avoid doing if possible.

Gigabyte's name has been stained a bit by some of their PSUs that seemed to specialise in pyrotechnics and this would be a good way to make themselves look good. Here's to hoping!
