The holidays are rapidly approaching and before you know it, we’ll be rolling the calendar over to 2017. As the year comes to a close, it’s important to take a moment and reflect on the events that shaped 2016 which is exactly what Google did on Thursday.

Google Play’s “Best of 2016” recognizes the most popular apps, games, streamed songs, movies, TV shows and books of the year. Some entries, like Pokémon Go’s place atop the games list, are a given while others may surprise you (I wouldn’t have guessed that Deadpool would finish as Google Play’s top movie, for example).

The only "game" that shaped 2016 came in the form of a presidential election. Was a horrible game. The ads alone are enough to make you vomit, although two of the Lead Developers seemed to get quite distracted with side projects: One, called Hillary, wanted to smash some sort of invisible glass ceiling. While the other dev, Donald, wanted to build a wall near Mexico for some reason. Following intense rioting in some cities, due to the ending of the game not being what players expected, Lead Developer Donald has nonetheless promised that the game will ship in the first quarter of 2017, on January 20th. Sadly, it is rumored that a sequel is coming next year as well, with day 1 DLC such as "Pissing Off Russia 2", "CHINA!" and "Definitely Not Another Middle-Eastern War".

This news thing is easy really. I could be a journalist. Hm.
