Hi
I recently upgraded to a GTX 780ti from a GTX 670. Now in games I get an error message saying the following: "directx function getdeviceremovedreason failed with dxgi_error_device_hung". I have searched a lot of fixes online, but none are working.
Here are my basic PC specs:
I5-4460
Gigabyte GTX 780ti (Model no: GV-N78TOC-3GD).
EVGA 500W PSU
Originally everyone said that the card is overheating, so I should lower my clock speeds to what a standard 780ti would have been out of the box. (I have a factory overclocked card).
That didn't work, so I contacted the guy who sold it to me and he said that my Power Supply Wattage is insufficient.
I checked my PSU requirements on Seasonic's website and the results are as follow:
Load wattage: 493W
Recommended PSU wattage: 543W
So I am kindly asking you professionals out there for advice. Should I buy a better PSU (Because I can't really afford one at the moment). Or is there another possible cause for the issue?
Thanks in advance!
