Hard Drive Not Recognized

I have a Kingwin 3.5" SATA hotswap rack in both my systems. My i5 3570K, and my E8400 systems are both running Windows7. The E8400 is Pro 64bit 4GB DDR3 and the i5 is 64bit Ultimate with 16GB's of DDR3. My swap drive is a 1TB Hitachi Deskstar. When I load it into the i5 system it's recognized right away. The E8400 system doesn't see it unless I reboot. I have a 811N Router/cable modem so the E8400 in the living room connects wireless. It's also connected to my 40" TV but I can't run video unless I swap the drive into that one and run the video directly on the system. Am I doing something wrong? In particular, the i5 has a blue ray burner but the E8400 doesn't, so I'm uploading movies from the ROM to the HDD and playing the HD movies in the living room. I hope thats not confusing.
