Hard drive wont work!!!

I just got a new 40 gb OEM hard drive (IDE) and connected it up with my other 40 bg IDE HDD on on the same IDE cable. I set the jumper on the old one to master and on the new one to slave so i know thats all set up properly. But when i start windows, my hard drive doesnt show up in "My Computer" but it does show up in device manager and in device manager it is listed as working normally. Does anyone know why the drive doesnt show up in the drive list?

Oh nvm guys sorry i found the solution myself...

The harddrive is unformatted. You have to initialize it in order to make it show up. Go to Control Panel>Admin Tools>Comp Mngmt. Click on disk managment.
