I'm assuming that you have to have a HD DVD Disk, to burn HD video from a video camera. Do you have to have a special HD DVD burner?
 
Assuming your video camera is an HD camera, everything else needs to support HD DVD too, yes. HD DVD is a dead format since Blu-ray won the format war. Do you mean Blu-ray?
 
Actually - I've read that you can actually burn a few minutes of HD media to be played back in an HD DVD player using a standard burner and a standard 4.7 or 8.5 blank DVD. Keep in mind you won't get much length out of that much space since HD DVD disks are 15 GB per layer and are often 2 layers deep.
