Here's your first look at the PlayStation 5 hardware design

I play on PC. I only care for the sake of crappy ports. The better the console the better the port. Which is what I'm hoping for. If it doesnt happen then it'll be just another failure. We will see.

Yup, just another failure, like the PS4 and Xbox One ... they barely sold a dozen. ;)

Rhetoric aside, I agree the closer the hardware in consoles is to gaming PCs, the better the ported games will be for PC. If the new console HW can't do 1080p 60 FPS in all games, then they need to fire AMD ... spoiler: AMD won't be getting fired.

On the article topic, I like the design.

I guess each to his own then. Blu-ray video / audio quality is still much better than streaming, and secondly it doesn't require internet connection to play. Also not every latest movies / shows are available on streaming services, I think there's at least one year wait. I'm one of those who would not go to the cinema but instead wait for Blu-ray releases as I have a killer home theater setup at home.
I mean, if you have iffy internet that is understandable. I wouldn't say Blu-Ray is THAT much ahead of streaming quality wise. I have enough bandwidth, internet wise, to push quality that is indistinguishable. Usually when something is out on Blu-Ray it is out on one of the streaming services available. No idea where you got the one year wait thing.

The design isn’t there to be new and fresh - it’s to hide how ridiculously big this thing is. Has no journalist noticed this?

Do an optical drive comparison with past generations - there’s a few premade images floating around. It’s managed to be 2/3 as thick as the Series X while being 15% taller than the PS3. This thing is HUGE, and looking at the vent gap it’s going to be noisy, too.

For those saying MS is kicking themselves - looks like they made the right move. Their console is now looking to be smaller, quieter AND more reliable. Money is on Sony to have an RROD this generation.
I don't think you watched the Mark Cerny video he even said they designed to PS5 to be cooled at maximum wattage constantly, unlike the PS4 which wasn't, which would explain why it sounds like a Jet when playing God of War or CoD Warzone.

2020 - when Female protagonists TOOK OVER GAMING.
Every single trailer looked like an interactive Disney film with a female lead role.

Because they want transsexual males to feel good. And if you're not that...... eat a little bit of nice GMO food and maybe you'll become it. Or your children will.

For what it is worth its a LOT better looking than the Xbox Series X. Yet I never purchased a system on looks alone, show me how it handles then I get excited.

Given you can get a PS5 for gaming AND a reasonable laptop for other duties, that cost about the same as a 2080ti graphics card...I think gaming PC's are the ones looking like they're past their sell-by date.

Stop! I would take a nice gaming desktop computer over Xbox or the PS5 combined! LOL

And make sure you get some 5G radiation while you're at it, right?

It looks ok-ish, but it's fookin enormous! It isn't going to fit under my TV, and looking like a prop from a Buck Rogers isn't going to help sweeten the can-it-sit-beside-the-TV pill with the missus.

Yeah, I'm skeptical of that image. It's not from Sony. More like a render someone made from the press images. I could be wrong, but the PlayStation 5 website has no images showing it in a horizontal position. Again it could be vertical and horizontal pedestals are included in the box. We'll see at some point.

EDIT: In any case. IF I get one, it's going on its side.

EDIT2: I did just find this image on the PlayStation Blog.
