High MHz ram risks overheating?

Hello this is my first post, I will get a new and better pc soon but im not near yet, meanwhile I wanna get a small ram upgrade, my pc uses ddr2 ram with 240 pins and the ram that came with the pc is 333MHz, I wanna get a new ram but my question is that I heard MHz can increase perfomance the higher it is but also increase power usage which risks overheating, is it safe to get higher a ram with a MHz higher than 333? motherboard and cpu info:

Select "Tech Support" tab and then scroll to the bottom for "Memory Support List".

Your worries of overheating is unfounded, unless you overclock your RAM modules. Memory modules use so little power, they don't need special cooling methods. With that said manufacturers will try and sell you on funny looking heat spreaders, aesthetics that you don't really need.

The memory you are currently using is DDR2-667. Which operates on a 333MHz clock with twice the data rate at 667MHz. Your motherboard will support both DDR2 667Mhz[PC2-5300] and 800MHz[PC2-6400] memory modules.

My advice would be in getting either [2x1GB or 2x2GB] DDR2-800 memory kit. I'm not going to advise on a brand. You should make your own mind on the brand, by looking at the "Memory Support List" linked above.

The ram that came with your pc has 533mhz, choosing a higher ram specs/
It won't burn out your pc over clocking and raising the voltages does shorten out the lifespan of the cpu .
Memory support wise the best you can do is corsair at 2gb each per stick so that will run you 48.00 with shipping and taxes.

So from now until you can get enough money to upgrade, keep this machine alive.
The mobo, ram, cpu, hdd combined will sell easily for under 200 bucks on ebay without defects.
