Hi fam. I'm here today because I need some help getting into my dell 8600 that is password protected. When I turn on the laptop I come to the grey and black screen that says:

This computer system #FDZOB41-595B. is protected by a password authentication system

Please type in the primary password
I have a dell 8600 All help is greatly appreciated

@ elrob3

Obi's post above is a free alternative. I noticed that you have had PM to pay service.

If you want to pay for these passwords, just Google for this. There are varied costs by varied private individuals. They are even at eBay ! They're everywhere (if you want to pay)

This thread is for members wanting free option. If you do not want free option or free information (ie Obi excellent support) There is No Need to post here. Wasting support member's time !

Can not seem to even find a pay site for presario C300

hi

Question 1
Could Anyone point me in the direction of a site (even pay site) that will reset a Compaq Presario C300.(other than HP.com)

Question 2
Do I have to know the original owners name to attempt a owner transfer title at HP.com

I have googled C300 password reset , Presario C300 password reset , Compaq C300 password reset with no luck in locating a site that does password reset, for this model.

Thank you for your time

Hi everyone. I got a HP Omnibook XE3L from a friend. He had lost both BIOS and power-on password. He contacted to HP support -> they won't help, as they want the proof-of-ownerage and he doesn't have the receipt anymore.

Now he bought a new computer and gave me his locked Omnibook. So now I would like to get it working again, because my current computer is even older(Dell Latitude CPi R400) than his omnibook. Could someone kindly give me the master code for hashcode "09182 ", please? Thank you very much. (And sorry for my bad english )

Hello All,

I see quite alot activity in the dell password threads. It seems alot here are very knowledgable when it comes to resetting / fixing the issues.

Here is the scenario. I have a Dell XPS M140 laptop that I set a admin password to some time ago. I quit using the laptop and had not saved the pass i used. I have researched this deeply and tried every method out there... Including shorting the pins. From what I understand the pin method will not even work for my model. Some say it wont and some say it will. I was able to reset the bios order via dell tech cd's so when booting i get the "configuration is incorrect etc etc". However im still stuck at the password screen. I believe the only solution left for me is to pay for a password reset service like ive seen offered here, ebay and other sites. But i have no idea who is reputable. It WOULD be nice if there was a member that was resetting them for free wih their tool.

Have you any advice you could offer me? Know any solutions or reputable people offering reset service free or cheap?

I realize you have probably got hundreds of msgs like this and are tired of seeing them. I hope you could lend me a helping hand.

Thanks Kindly,
guyguru

OBI, Rustam_, Paragon33 (you guys seem to have a handle on this issue more than anyone else ive seen on communities) - any ideas? Able to lend me a hand?

DELL XPS M140 - Anyone ever reset Admin BIOS Password on this?

I am having issues resetting the bios password for this laptop Dell XPS M140. I have done alot of reading up on this issue and have tried nearly everything minus the paperclip method as i read it will not work on this specific machine.

I just purchased service from a password reset site but the pass they supplied does not work. They are telling me its due to defaultly keyboard connector and other issues which I know are not true.

Right now When booting I get the "invalid cmos - please enter setup ..." msg. Machine then goes to the default white password screen. During boot though I cannot enter bios or anything else. From what ive read according to Paragon33 when removing cmos battery, power connectors and battery waiting 30 minutes or more then replacing this will happen as it resets cmos boot order. I had performed this last year when attempting to very first reset my pass using the old conventional methods after forgetting it. I have all the dell tech software and many homebrew apps for resetting TAG etc. However most are not for the 595B which I have.

Has anyone reset admin pass on this specific machine? Anyone had issues with it? Anyone know how I can go about fixing this problem?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
guyguru

You need to remove all power from the laptop, locate your CMOS battery and disconnect it (or remove it if it is a coin style battery) for 30 minutes. That will not remove the Admin /Configure Setup Password, but it will reset BIOS Defaults of Boot Order 1) Diskette 2)HDD 3)CD Drive and reenable disabled drives. That default boot order will be locked still by the password, but by then removing the HDD from the laptop, it will allow a boot from the CD Drive with the CDR version of the DST file from this Website and erase the eeprom, then reset only the Service Tag
