Name is Chuck and requested by my cousin, have traveled from Michigan out to California to help her with here husband who is in Hospice Care in her home going downhill very fast.
My cousin daughter has a Dell Inspiron 1300 that is BOIS Locked up. Two years ago when I was out here I found info on what IC and pin numbers to short out this memory to fix problem. Of course they did not save information I left with them..
Could someone please forward info how to remove password from BOIS Memory (IC Number, location, Pin numbers to short) or if there is a Master BIOS Password that would allow me into memory to set Access of CD Rom as number (1) over hard drive.

Hpgl, Sir I have the same problem as K also done the dell support services thing without success I live in South Africa, so you can imagine the service here is particularly poor please help me with the passwords for these tag. Both machines were bought on ebay and I really need to start working with them for the sake of my business

Thank you OBI for the advice. I joined here for free info and advice. Yes I know that there are plenty of sites to pay for this info, but I'm more interested in learning how to do these things myself.

The D600 main battery hides the small compartment area for the BIOS battery, unplug it and wait a few minutes, and replug it, and put it back together, and you should be able to go through it.
No, this procedure don´t work on newer Dell´s
shorting procedure or DST software works fine on Latitude D600.

i really need this laptop fixed
the owner of the shop said he'll get me a job at his place if i fix it
im really desperate for a job and it isnt easy i've been trying for almost 8 months
with no luck heh

Dear hpgl, thanks for quick reply but above master password is not working.
There is PhoenixBIOS . on entering possible driverlock password in the bios setup three times, the system disabled (00007) shows up. I do not know how to get the master password in the bios. but when trying to use the supplied master password in the start up dialog in the normal boot asking for drivelock password and then when it ask for HDD master password, it does not work. It says HDD locked.
please help

Dell Inspiron 1300 ... How Do I get bottom appart to do paper clip methoid for BIOS .

Yesterday I started to remove all screws, off bottom .. There seems to be two more that might be under the top side (keyboard) .. Any help to remove keyboard or what or where are these other screws.
A few days ago I listed the Service Tag, hoping someone would help me with a Master BIOS Password .. but not luck so far.
I'm out helping my cousin who's husband was ill, and passed away two days ago. Had to extend my stay with airlines to return to my home. Funeral will be coming Friday .. so have a few extra days here in Calif. to help them on this issue.
So .. please .. if you know anyone that could help me, either find these extra screws (think under keyboard on top side) to get bottom off ... or someone that can help provide a password .. Special thanks to you.. This Notebook belongs to my cousin's daughter..
