That maybe possible, though Dell has a history of using .exe programs to accomplish this type of purpose, I have a cd from a dell tech for systems prior to the 595b "for internal use only" with various executable file types tech's do have access
TB2 says "Heh, how do you know it's an .exe? Could just as well be any kind of script, and from what I've heard (on the ihatedell.net forums), even Employees of Dell don't have access to that tool outside of their working area. I guess advisors can use a web interface to access the master password generating software that runs on some server, so for someone to make this ".exe", you're talking about you'd either have someone at Dell stealing the software from the server, or someone else write a compatible algorithm for it."
if you read the prior pages of post's you'll see some people in this forum have access and have given master passwords to some who say it worked, as well it being noted that some do have this generator, sorry I didn't understand your point to your post, you show more concern about if someone at dell is stealing software, or someone writing an algorithm to make a password than helping people resolve the problem they have with a laptop, this is a help forum ppl come here to give or receive help for forgotten passwords or if they bought a used laptop, free help , sadly though some people only want to offer help for a profit
