HP / Dell / etc. laptop password help thread

Hi. I need a bios pass for a Dell latitude120L, on the screen this shows:#5HNN62J-595B
Bios version is v.a05.
Anything else needed?

Have the same problem with a Hp 6715b.

What was the problem initially, What did he do, and what do you have now... what works. What didn't work. And what was done.

use shorting procedure. A pdf of Fastback68 shows how it works.
If you can boot from anything, use DST software. Both work fine on Latitude 120L.

password for programs is smellyalater

Well, i have now read the whole thread, there is a few who actually can make these
passwords, but instead of help, they just post the same answers over and over.
If i wanted to make the shorting, i'd do it earlier instead of asking for help.
Probably it takes the generator a few sec to make the pass, so why dont you users who can do it help with the pass, just takes you 5 sec extra in posting answer.
Would be fine to have someone who can do this 10 min now and then.

What about my HP? How do i find the key hash?

Dell 600 bios password

.
I purchased a dell 600 and it has a bios password.
Can you tell me how to get in to remove the password.Your help would be so much appreciated !!!! does svctag work ?? and where would I download it ?

Thanks
Simone :)

Well, i tried the shorting yesterday, bad result, my Dell is now dead.
Seems that the shorting guide is a bit out of date, and is not correct for all laptops.
When someone are going to make a "how to" like this, they have to know what they are doing,
not like this; try shorting pin 3-6 or 3-7 or, or. If they dont know exactly what, and result in trying, dont do it.

So for others with Dell Latitude 120L, be careful.
I have the full version of this shortening guide, ill make it downloadable for anyone.

Anyone who can help with a HP 6715b, this one boots from hd only, and have a bios setup password, how do i find the key code?

Many posts regarding Password removal on Laptops seem to be incorrectly posted in any forum accidentally. These posts (and their replies ;) ) Are then moved by Moderators to the appropriate thread.

Tmagic650's reply was made when the original post was incorrectly posted in the wrong area, As the posts have now been moved accordingly Tmagic650's post does now not apply.

Therefore 8hours, it was not directed at your post here on this correct thread

Why cant the ones who have the passgen help people, Instead of feeling important?

It's so strange, people who's got the solution hanging around in a forum like this, just to say try this and try that.
If i ever find the keygen ill pop it out for all, hunting is still on.

Kimsland, do you have a solution for my Hp?

I have one solution that will help you specifically
please use EDIT instead of replying to yourself
And ask once or twice and that's it. There is no need to continually ask everyday on multiple posts (I'm exaggerating here, to get my point across ;) )

No I do not know a solution for your Hp; otherwise I'd freely post immediately if I did.

well yall i have given up since the 595b keygen godz are stingy and i have since acquired a laptop that i could salvage a part from my 1525 instead of having a worthless pile of junk doorstop i now have a fully functional laptop and a doorstop it seems this thread is a joke full of nothing but you downing others for ads but yet you are one big ad for 1 company that charges $75 for the same service we come here seeking good luck to those who still need help i may stop in from time to time but have lost hope in the 595b bs ill wait the 5 years for it to be leaked like all the others since im obviously unworthy of the help of those that can help

nope... you don't have to do that... just gotta jumper pin 3 and pin 6 on the "24c02", or "24u05", or the "24c164" or whatever chip resides in the location marked "upw1" (i think it stands for "unremovable password" lol) at least that's what it was on my D500... You really have to do some looking for it, mine was behind the PCMCIA slot.. only had to take the keyboard, one heatsink, and the pcmcia slot off.. then lift back the plastic, Carefully soldier wires to pin 3 and 6, then route them outside (i went through the fan opening), then put it all back together. then press the power button, short the wires for 2 seconds, then it "should" say "***Manufacturing Mode - Level [1]*** Press Fn-X to return to normal mode" then when you see this, press F2, after bios comes up, press ESC, choose "Save and exit" then reboot... if "manufacturing mode" still comes up press Fn-X and it will exit that mode. you may have to mess with it a few times, but don't leave the wires shorted for more than 2 seconds. "the first time i did it i got a overheating warning, and it was gonna be shut down.. don't worry bout that, you've come this far, try it again... it actually came up for me by doing the following

Step 1. press power.
Step 2. short wires 2 seconds.
Step 3. disconnect wires, wait 2 seconds.
Step 4. short wires again for 2 seconds,
Step 5. disconnect and wait for "Maintenance Mode" text.
Step 6. Hit F2
Step 7. Hit ESC, Choose save and exit
Step 8. Enjoy your unlocked Laptop (with NO service Tag)

ok... got that straigtened out.. but now it says "service Tag:Not Installed" in the bios, so it will not let you save a new admin or configure password, but you can lock the harddrive, so good enough. (i can just imagin that call to dell support. "What's the service tag number?", "It says 'not installed'", "WTF, How'd you do that????") LMFAOTIPMP

encryption code needed for DST program

When I download any of the DST files from the download section the rar file asks for an encryption key before expanding the file.

Am I missing something?

Thank you for any help provided and if this is in the wrong forum please post it where needed, just let me know where to look for the replies.

Contact Dell. They'll veirfy ownership and should help

Or reinstall windows

Or try hitting Enter as most people never create Admin passwords so hitting Enter still works

Hi all, sorry if I am putting this in the Wrong Section, I have bought a Laptop from Loot a couple of weeks ago, was seen in working order but they couldnt supply the mains adapter and the person had broke his and was using his wifes, he said it was from his company, I have just bought a mains lead but when I turn it on it says "This Computer System #4Y9SH3J-595B is Protected by a password authentication system." I am unable to contact the person I bought it off and only know he Lives in Bolton ! is there anything I can do ? I've tried contacting Dell but say I have to have the previous owners details which I do not have. Is there any way I can get the password ? Its a Dell Latitude D530 if that is of any help. Many thanks in advance for any help offered. Regards, James
