update on my d620. got a disk failure in windows, wanted to back up info .called dell new hard drive will be here on Tuesday. it seems all that talk about dell service being so bad isn't true.

I wasn't around a couple of years ago, but I have since read many (well, all) old posts on older threads. Basically support weren't really that helpful. ie Dell's turnaround is about 1 day for warranty, and about 3 days non-warranty (say for the past 10 years until now) And outside warranty is still $49 and that's it.
Now any regulars are highly likely sick of me posting here
