I have no 2nd monitor, but one is detected

Windows 10. I can put my mouse off the side of the screen, and drag windows over there, into nothingness. It's a really big pain clicking around until I am able to drag it back over to my actual one and only monitor. How would I go about deleting/disabling this 2nd monitor?
Here's a screenshot if I didn't explain enough: http://prntscr.com/9dat0n
The 2nd monitor that shows doesn't actually exist, so I need to remove it so I don't accidentally drag random stuff into it. Help is really appreciated. :)

Not really sure what to make of that response. Care to elaborate?

On that screenshot you have text "Multiple displays" and next to it "Extend these displays". Change latter to "Show desktop only on monitor 1" (or something like it, not sure what it is exactly).

In the old days, that would be a motherboard video chip, additional to the plug-in video card driving your one monitor. Is there on the rear of your PC, an unused video connector like one of these (VGA, DVI or HDMI) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=v...7i69jJAhWE2BoKHclXAjAQsAQIHw&biw=1187&bih=927

If so, disable it in the motherboard bios. Does the drop-down box seen in your screen clip alongside 'Displays' actually show anything else when clicked. If so, what does it say?
