I'll try to get you started until Howard can tell you more specifically how to remove all of those infections.

Download, install and update Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run HJT and check the following:

O2 - BHO: Nothing - {5f4c3d09-b3b9-4f88-aa82-31332fee1c08} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hp100.tmp (file missing)
O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin\ssv.dll
O9 - Extra button: Research - {92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263} - C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\REFIEBAR.DLL
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.google.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.adslconnection.name
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.archiviosex.net
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.otherchance.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.redfunny.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.softlab.name
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.xxx-content.name

Click Fix checked.

Run Adaware, complete system check and remove all objects found.

Restart the computer and turn on system restore then post a fresh HJT log.

And more -

O16 - DPF: {FF3F0F03-0F01-131A-A3F9-08F02B23E0CC} - http://207.226.177.98/gba2218.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BearShare] "C:\Program Files\BearShare\BearShare.exe" /pause

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [oeuai] C:\Documents and Settings\ahmed's\Application Data\tofareraci\systvmrs.exe

O2 - BHO: Nothing - {5f4c3d09-b3b9-4f88-aa82-31332fee1c08} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hp100.tmp (file missing)

Howard would also say get rid of Norton crap and use Zone Alarm and AVG and use Firefox instead of IE.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

systvmrs.exe
gba2218.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: Nothing - {5f4c3d09-b3b9-4f88-aa82-31332fee1c08} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hp100.tmp (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [oeuai] C:\Documents and Settings\ahmed's\Application Data\tofareraci\systvmrs.exe

Fix all O15 - Trusted Zone entries.

Fix all 016- DPF entries.

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\Documents and Settings\ahmed's\Application Data\tofareraci\systvmrs.exe

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Post a fresh HJT log.

Regards Howard :)

The difference is, Firefox is a lot more secure than IE. It doesn`t use ActiveX controls, which are a source of potential malware problems. It also doesn`t have as many security holes.

You should only use IE for Windows updates and the odd site that doesn`t work with Firefox.

Believe me your system will thank you for not using IE.

However, it really is upto you.

To run a defrag click start/programmes/Accessories/system tools/disk defrag.

Regards Howard :)

i d/l it and it's not so bad except the link bar area look a bit ugly than it is in IE. so do i have to delete ie?? exactly what will firefox do for my system??.

just a question..
what do u use?? IE or FIREFOX??

how come with firefox i can install google toolbar??

how do you make a short cut of a programme on the quick launch????
thanx so much!!

No. You don`t need to delete IE.

If you don`t like the interface, you can download and install lots of different themes. click tools/themes/get more themes.

I have used Firefox for the last two years or so and have never had any issues.

I don`t know why you can install the Google toolbar with Firefox, but not in your IE.

I seem to remember you`ve had this problem for some time now.

Just forget IE, except for Windows updates etc.

Regards Howard :)

If you don`t like Firefox there is an alternative OPERA
It`s a bit quicker on it`s feet than Firefox, and a bit quicker to get to it`s feet. :)
Looks OK too IMHO.

Have HJT fix the following entries.

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin\ssv.dll (file missing)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin\ssv.dll (file missing)

Other than the above unecessary entries, your HJT log is clean.

majoy problem after uninstalling and installin zonalarm and avg anti virus. my pc started to have glitchs. and utorrent wont even start up.nero keeps on freezing.

wats rong ??

Just in case it`s zonealarm causing the problems.

Go HERE and download the free kerio firewall.

Disconnect from the net and uninstall Zonealarm.

Install the Kerio firewall and reconnect to the net. See if that helps.

Regards Howard :)

utorrent wasn't working because of some network settings, nero 7 was freezing becasue the software was made like that. i have seen lots of people having the same problem with nero. though i didn't find any cause of the glitchs and lately i having been having a message too often.it says "COULDN'T COPY TO MEMORY, CLICK OK TO CLOSE"
and did i tell you that the speed decreased.
