Im a Huge Noob that needs help!

I just bought a brand new dell dimension e310. It has 256 mb of memory and Intel GMA video card. I was told by some people to go out and get the ATI Radeon 9000. I was wondering if that was the right choice and how I would go about installing. Please Keep in mind i really dont know much about computers. Thank you

Well.... some not so good news.

There are two things limiting you for upgrading your graphics.

1. You have no AGP slot or PCIexpress x16 slot.

You only have PCI. Probably the best PCI card around these days is the Radeon 9250 but that is a fairly dated card and not enough to play today's newer games. What exactly are your graphics needs? Why do you feel the need to upgrade?

2. Your power supply is only 230 watts. Most of the newer cards require 300w minimum.

Dells are.... bah. I'll leave that comment out

Probably you BEST choice would be to upgrade your system ram as this will help your graphics.
