I had a problem with my optorite CD burner. The green power light would come on solid while the machine turned on but when I would put a CD in the light would flicker irregularly and the CD wouldn't be recognized. I ordered a combo drive as an upgrade. I unplugged the old one and plugged in the Lite-On. When I start the machine the name of the new dvd/cd burner shows up. And, if while machine is starting I click DEL to go to setup, it shows up IDE channel 1 master (auto) but it doesn't show up in device manager or "my computer".
I downloaded driver and unzipped but when I try to run it, it doesn't find or recognize the drive.
I have a barebones Wintergreen machine running XP-Pro
I'd appreciate any suggestions... Thank You.
