Installing Windows XP, stuck on setup

I got a virus on my computer, to make a long story short i finally decided to reinstall windows. I had vista but uninstalled it then went to install windows xp. it said could not copy file [filename] but i just hit esc and continued, there was about 20 timesi had to do this. then it started the setup and said error not all files copyed or something along those lines. then it just shut down the computer. when i trestarts it goes to the setup agian and repeats it. how do i fix this?

Sounds like your XP CD is defective, try using another.
