invisible golfer on tiger woods 2005 for pc

i was having problems with tiger woods 2005 locking up during play online and just on the regular game so i bought a new geforce mx 4000 video card. now, when i open the game the golfer is invisible. the game seems to work otherwise, but no golfer when i start and no golfer in the game. i've called ea a few times and they verfied i have all the correct drivers etc. but they have no clue. i installed tiger woods 2004 to see what it would do and it works great, much better than before the new card. completely new graphics etc i never even knew were on the game, but no go on 2005. any ideas out there? i'm jonesing to play this game.
