Is MSN Messenger safe?

I bought a Logitech 4000 Pro webcam, then found out
it says it only works with AOL & MSN Messenger.

I don't know if it would work with Yahoo Messenger -
anybody know?

If MSN is my only choice (I don't use AOL) is it, or can
it be made, safe?

I use Firefox, and generally stay away from anythng MSN
related.

Greatly appreciate any help or info!

I wouldn't say MSN messenger is any worse or better than the competition security-wise. If the user is stupid enough to install crap software (extra smileys anyone?) or open any sent file/link, then no program is going to protect you.

ALL IM software is a major risk!

Also, any device that works ONLY with specific software is real lame!
Suggest you return it.

I have deleted your other two threads for this subject. That way, members won`t reply with exactly the same info in different threads.

I agree with the guys, all IM softwear carries risks of one form or another and that MSN messenger is probably no better or worse than any other IM programme.

I think your webcam should work ok with Yahoo messenger. I used to have a Logitech webcam myself, I had the Logitech Quickcam Sphere. I used it with yahoo messenger without problems. Give it a try and see how it goes.

Sorry about the other posts - didn't even realize I had posted multiples!

I'll give it a try on Yahoo being all of us already have that.
