Last weekend, I foolishly downloaded something unpleasant (I thought it was a crack for roller coaster tycoon - which i felt entitled to do as I own the proper CD - which is badly scratched).
It shut down internet explorer - but not firefox, so I tried restoring it to an earlier date - which was no good, then I went into processes and stopped anything I didn't like the look of (i.e. weird names using lots of memory)
Then I ran scans using AVG which came up with several 'Trojans', and 'Malwarebytes' as recommended by the internet, I even had a go with Hijack this (which revealed something called 'karna.dat' which is apparently something nasty - but it wasn't working anyway). After many scans - I assumed all was OK
Until yesterday that is, when AVG on a routine scan came up with two 'generic worms'. What should I do (I am also unable to get internet explorer 8 to run - although I can install it.
