Is this the CMOS battery?

I was using Toshiba's Official CDs to bring my laptop back to its factory settings when, after the first CD, the laptop wouldn't boot as advised by the installation software. So I presses the power button to turn it off. When I booted the machine the BIOS was gone. What I got instead was a blank screen with a blinking cursor. The boot process now takes just two seconds because the blinking cursor is all there is; gone are the BIOS and the manufacturer's logo before it.

If I am reading the various forums right, I need to remove the CMOS battery and then put it back. Therein lies my first problem: in the Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5109, the only quarter-sized silver thingamajig I see is this (see pic) seemingly soldered(?) to the HDD. Is this the CMOS battery? your expertise is needed before I cause this poor laptop even more damage.

IF you google "Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5109 cmos battery", one of the images shown is the one you have there.
