ISPs continue to charge unfair router rental fees, potentially breaking US laws

"If you don't like it don't choose that ISP. I mean they are straightforward with their pricing aren't they? I have a 1000/100mbit connection from where I am at, for only 60 euro a month. I can do anything with it I want."

That's expensive for the same amount of money ( $94.89NZD) here I can get 1000/500 with unlimited data and a voip line aswell or for a little more a month $129.95NZD I get 2000/2000 plus unlimited data and voip line

And well you should have bloody loads of old routers, at least one for each of the ever evolving wifi standards. I have my own 802.11ax router (very nice) installed, and a whole bunch that went to the e-cycler, going back to the days when there was no wifi but there was broadband internet that needed a router.

When an ISP "includes" a cable modem and possibly a router in its basic internet charges, this merely adds to the profit margin of the ISP, because its cable modem and usually trailing edge router are dirt cheap when bought in high volume, and easily turning a profit for the ISP within a year.
Yeah there will be something in it or a subsidy or something. They installed fibre to the door and the fibre box for no additional charge (and I'm on the first floor, well second from US definition) I also got some promotional Amazon access point extender but I really don't need it. - not in a bragging way its just interesting the differences.

I Never realized that you had to pay for a Router, I was under the impression that your Router was Free, I am from E.I.R.E. and my ISP is VIRGIN ATLANTIC owned by One of the Ritches men in the world SIR RICHARD BRANSON I currently Fork Out 50 Euros a month for an OK internet its not to slow but its advertised as Fiber Optic when it runs through the old Coaxial Cable hardly I guess that is how you get to be One of the one Percent Need I Say Anymore 250 m b

It is probably Fibre to street then Coaxial to door is how alot of fibre works - you would know if it was fibre to house as you would have someone around changing your cables and adding a conversion box
