Retailers are pulling back from self-checkout after years of theft, errors, and questionable time savings

I like self-checkout because I can put my stuff in the cart quickly and then move to the exit and pack everything the way I want it before exiting in the bags I brought with me for that purpose. I don't like self-checkout if I have produce that is not in a scannable form, so I use the regular line for that. If you are not an organized person, self-checkout is not for you.

Take a close look at the sign above or below produce at the stand if there is no label on it. Many stores will place the plu number on the label or sign.
If you know the plu you can still use self checkout without delay

"changing consumer habits" means theft. Yes, those people, the ones you're not allowed to criticize.

These days retail theft is done by individuals of all economic, racial, social backgrounds and ages.
