It's not just memory anymore: AI data centers are taking all the CPUs, too

Surprise, surprise, the Tech Bros know what everyone wants even though many do not want what the Tech Bros think they want.

One day, one day, all the big tech companies who invested billions in the so called stupid "AI" will fall flat on their faces.

Their preposterous havoc they have caused in ordinary home tech consumers like us will get back to them.

oh there will be a tech survival of the fittest for sure, but only 2 or 3 will remain in the end and that's how the market will stabilize itself as well.
too many and their mom buying everything directly from the fab is already preposterous.

When this bubble bursts, being able to afford Pc Parts will be the least of our worries...having a job to put food on the table and keeping a roof over ones head, will be.
You live with a lot of fear. This is a bubble similar to the DotCom bubble, which will burst when many companies realize they are spending more on this fake AI than they were on personnel.

You'll own nothing and you'll be happy. It's a plan. When will people understand that these wars, shortages and civil unrest aim at only one thing ? Global inflation.

If people saw how much of this hardware is sitting idle in warehouses because they simply can't turn data centers on after building them they would be flabbergasted. Buying more hardware does nothing if you can't use it, that's why we have ideas like data centers in space

Everyone should hit the pause button on buying hardware until we can use all the hardware. I've heard lots of things saying that 25% of data centers are dark, but I've heard that number could be closer to 40%.

Gotta keep feeding those money furnaces, though. Can we build power plans that use money burning technology? It might be cheaper to just burn money to produce electricity than coal or gas.
Sounds like rental properties too. Sitting idle not occupied. No business activity. Just being someone's assets or war chest.

Wait until all of the data centers become obsolete overnight as a single stable quantum computer takes over the entire AI industry. They will be turning Data Centers into giant CompUSAs from the 90’s. Sadly, I will be dead by then…..

I'm really glad I was forward-thinking and got myself 64 GB of RAM around two years ago, and my RTX 4080 Super also has 16 GB of VRAM, which is fine for now. But I'm also still on an AM4 platform with my old AMD Ryzen 7 5700X. Switching to AM5 with everything would cost a fortune for a marginal performance improvement. It would basically be pointless to me since I play at 60 fps anyway and cap it there.
