Bobbye-

Great thank you so much. I will do this as soon as I get home.

I had a question though, when you wrote about system restore points, it made me remember that we created a system restore point the last time you helped me out.

I'm not too familar with how system restore points work. I was wondering if I reverted back to that system restore point, would all data be lost since I created that system restore? Meaning if I reverted back, would it be like the virus never got onto my computer?

-I will do these steps as soon as I'm home, thanks a lot. Am I forgetting about the log at this time then?

Ok, I've followed all the steps listed above. Didn't have any problems.

How do I know if my PC is clean? Also, my Windows updates were downloaded. It put on Microsoft Silverlight. Do you have any idea what this is for? I never asked for this program, but it downloaded "Windows Essentials". Is this something I can remove?

Thanks Bobbye.

One more note- When I go to turnoff my computer, I always close all windows. When I hit shut down, it says "Waiting for programs to close that are still running" And it doesn't tell me what is running. I'm sure its fine but was curious, would Comodo or Avira be the program running in the background?

EDIT: One thing I noticed is that my IE is slower than before, no idea why. Other thing I noticed is that F5 (refresh) is the only way to refresh a page now, when I click the reload button, nothing happens. Same with the back button, I have to use delete to go back. Is this something that is bad?

Okay, you need to do this on your own:

Microsoft Silverlight: http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

To see what is still running, open the Task Manager.

For slow IE, remove addons. Also do disc cleanup, defrag, delete temporary inernet files.

System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

I use the Refresh icon in the tool bar to refresh a page. Look in the monitor settings in the Control Panel to adjust refresh rate,

All of the old restore points were dropped. They are no longer on the system. Even if they were, using that feature now would be useless and possibly reinfect the system. I had you create a new clean restore point in Reply #26.

Yout system is clean because we cleaned it.

Thanks Bobbye.
I wasn't sure if you had any inside info on Silverlight. I'll do some research on it myself, thanks!

Are there any add-ons which shouldn't be deactived?

Thanks in regards to the restore points, I didn't know how they worked. Thanks also for helping me clean my computer.

What my question is, is that the buttons next to the website address input do not work. For some reason, when I hit the refresh icon, nothing happens. It forces me to use F5. Same with the back button, I can only use delete to go back. It is a bit odd.
Thanks so much Bobbye!

You're welcome. Sorry time doesn't allow me to work through this extra, but info below should get you started.

The Toolbar buttons would be on IE8? Do you use any other browser?

IE8 won't auto refresh web pages <----Link to search.

Windows 7 IE8 back button on all open browser instances stops working after a while, even when running without add-ons
The behavior is being caused by a Norton component that "blocks" intervening pages (usually ads). When you use the drop-down button, the first previous page is the one that Norton "blocked."
Contact Symantec/Norton Support for further information & assistance.

If you have addons for cosmetic reasons or 'fun stuff', try removing those first and see if the speed improves.

Thanks a lot Bobbye. I've read through the links and I think I actually figured out the problem. I had about 20 tabs open in IE (both times I encountered this problem) while tracking my fantasy football stats.. lol.. I think the amount of tabs caused the toolbar at the top to not function correctly. I tested it and had only one or two tabs opened and it worked just fine. I'll test it more tonight.

I'm going ot check out the add-ons tonight. I shouldn't have any to be honest since I don't use add-ons..

Thanks a lot for your help!!
