Linus Tech Tips halts production amid allegations of unethical behavior, inaccuracies,...

Not after, but before. The block was agreed to be given back before the GN Video, not after.

And not once, but twice!

I've enjoyed LTS content, and I like Linus himself, he's a genuine enthusiast who has contributed positively to the community over the years. I've never viewed LTS as an authority on reviews, they're a little too goofy, rushed, imprecise, and occasionally egotistical for my tastes. Their recent content seems to aim to be entertaining rather than informative, but occasionally stumbles at both. I'm also a little uncomfortable with their industry links and endorsements, with Noctua, for example. It isn't wise for an outfit that claims to be impartial. I was also confused by Linus's insistence that Steve should have talked to him before the original GN piece was published, it suggests that he doesn't understand that his credibility in the community should be underpinned by integrity, and not by who he knows.
That's not to say LTS shouldn't have a place, just so long as they don't misinform, and I think that's the crux of the GN pieces, which was undeniably harsh but fair.
It took a few days, but I think they've finally found the right response, and I genuinely hope LTS reinvent themselves, and look forward to see where they land once they've had a chance to figure all this out...

I remember when he "borrowed" stuff from his workplace to make videos in the park on a bench.

That was when he was at his best imo. He reflected a time when PC gaming was about scrounging the cheapest parts together and getting them to work in a way that blew other dedicated gaming platforms out of the water in terms of sheer power and originality.

In some ways LTS's recent content reflects the worst sides of PC gaming culture today, especially as presented on social media - over the top, over priced, superficial and underwhelming.

I had issues with how he does his reviews for a long time (clear mistakes, low number of data points, weird opinions, etc), but I generally still watched them.

But I took serious issue with him accepting Nvidia's 4060 early review "offer" which spammed youtube with positive videos about the 4060 a day early before the actual third party reviews. Then he had the gall to tell me that he wasn't paid for it... as if getting an one day early video on the 4060 didn't make him money when everybody else who refused to do something this unethical was still under NDA.
I see, thx, good to know!
