I am running Windows 2000 Pro and have 2 user accounts on my pc. One is the admin account and the other is a user that logs on every time at startup with a stored password. This PC is mine, but there are other people who use this computer. What I want to do is make Windows ask for the admin or other user password before opening certian programs. Both admin and the other user have the same password, but no one else knows them. I tried messing with the security settings on shortcuts but can't figure it out. thanks.

If your file-system is NTFS, you can set permissions for individual folders or files by user or by group.

The subject is too complex to answer here. Readup on the MS-website or do a web-search.

Alternatively, buy Microsoft's "Windows 2000 Professional Expert Companion" by Craig Stinson and Carl Siechert
ISBN 0-7536-0855-5 (US$ 39.99/Can$ 57.99)
