Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help. After having a horrid bug on my system that disabled my desktop, regedit, taskmanager and other fun stuff..etc...I haven't been able to connect to the internet via 2003 since. I might have deleted some .dlls while getting my system clean. lol

I dual boot 2003 standard edition and run XP Professional.

The original message when I try to repair the highspeed cable connection....."Windows cannot renew the IP address from the DHCP server. Instead an automatic private address will be used to connect to computers within the same private network."

What I have tried so far...

1. ipconfig /renew---the error is: : “An error occurred while renewing interface local area connection: an operation was attempted on something that is not a socket."

2. I checked to make sure DHCP was enabled, which it was.

3. I followed Microsofts article on--How to remove and reinstall TCP/IP on a Windows Server 2003 domain controller. Article #:325356

I can run dcdiag and netdiag to see what errors come up if that would help as well.

Still no connection. I'm completely lost at this point.

Thanks Kim
