Memory card error for Cannon

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum but I have a huge problem.
Recently I took pictures from my SLR cannon camera. They pictures were very important and business related.

When i put the card into my computer to transfer all the data, my driver (f) said it was not formatted and to format now. If i clicked yes, it would delete all my data. When I put the card back in my camera, it now says error.

I don't want to delete any of the data and neither do I want to pay for any software especially if it is an easy fix.

Is there anyway I can get my memory card up and running again?

Unfortunately, it sounds as if the card has developed a fault and there is unlikely to be a way to correct it.

Other members might be able to add further suggestions.
