Microphone sound input disables after 2-3 minutes after standby

Soundcard: Soundblaster Audigy 2 Value

Somehow every time I bring my PC out of standby, my microphone input will only work for 2-3 minutes. It completely disables after that, sound recorder and everything else (ventrilo mostly). Restarting the computer has no effect. After an hour or so it sometimes comes back but I have no idea what is causing the cut-offs. I believe putting the PC on standby again resets the "2-3 minute timer" or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well I don't think this will help you, but I am having a similar-ish problem in that I can somehow get my mic to work, but when i come back to it a few hours later or the next day it no longer works again.
