Microsoft Office 2003 Numbered List Problem

hey guys, I have a document that has a numbered list that goes over 1000, when it reaches 1000 the gap between the number and the text goes a lot bigger.. anyone know why this happens? and if there is a way to change it?

well when you get to 1000 i think Word is adjusting Left, & Hanging/First Line Indentation ...... e.g. when you start from number 1 .... Word usually sets to Left = 0.25, Hanging/First Line 0.25.

You can adjust it according to your needs by changing those values. Goodluck
