Probably because 99% of people already know the answer. the Xbox account does not have all the functionality that the account systems for Bethesda, Activision, ece have, and swapping those integrated systems out without breaking or losing anything is actually pretty hard to do.

Functionality my ***. Half of the games requiring those accounts don't need them for anything special. Look what Sony did to Helldivers trying to require Steam users to make PSN accounts after the fact when it was already working perfectly fine cross plat and all. I don't care about Bethesda's club exclusive skins from before or whatever. They should NOT be using separate accounts going forward. Hell, Doom Eternal required the account for singleplayer and Wolfenstein Youndblood wanted the account to access skins we already paid for (Deluxe+Pre-order). Totally ridiculous.
