Monitor switches off mid-game??

Have a huge problem I'm completely stumped on..on virtually all my games (Tropico 3&4,L4D2 and TF2 via Steam) about 5 mins into the game my monitor switches off forcing me to restart my pc (usually with the game still running although it sometimes loops)

Ive tried virtually everything I can think of:my pc isnt running hot/overheating,have updated everything(including going from XP to win7)..this is something that has got progressively worse since before Xmas...dunno what next..ANY help needed!

Hmmm, the first thing I think of in these situations is an overheating problem (BTW I assume that you mean your computer stops displaying picture, rather than your actual monitor turning off). Have you checked your temps whilst at full load? If not, get FurMark to test your GPU and Prime95 to test your CPU. If your computer crashes during these tests then that is also a problem.

The fact that this is getting progressively worse leads me to think that your GPU may be dying.
