  1. Hey everyone, I have been upgrading my pc a little. I recently purchased an AMD 64x2 3800 and A-Data 2x1g PC 3200 DDR Ram now Im considering upgrading my Asus A8V Deluxe mobo and Asus 9550 128mb vid card. My questions are will an upgrade to a PCI Express mobo and a better card compliment the new stuff i just purchased. Im not looking to build a supercomputer, just something that will perform better then what I have now (with oc capability) but still staying with the 939 socket.

PCIX video pretty quick refresh rates, but the PCI-Express 16X does a good job too.

Thanks tipstir, would a better mobo improve overall pc performance?

The motherboard gives you more choices, and thus an opportunity for better performance... but remember you need to find a board that will handle your cpu and memory, or you will need to upgrade those as well. I see no big advantage in upgrading the motherboard without also upgrading the cpu. Those changes will have an impact on the PCI-Express video graphics card you select... as will improved memory.

Thanks raybay, ill just stick with the mobo I have, if there wont be a significant increase in performance. Maybe ill just upgrade the vid card and run the machine till it dies.
