Solved Multiple processes with *32 in task manager and getting pop-ups adware

Uninstall Firefox completely using this manual: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer
NOTE. Use MozBackup: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ to backup your bookmarks and passwords. Do NOT backup anything else.
Install fresh copy.

That *seems* to have fixed the popups in Firefox at the moment. However, IE is still not acting correctly. Still get the black screen upon opening a new browser tab (see previous printscreens.) And if I open Task Manager I see multiple instances of "iexplore.exe *32" as well as a few other programs such as FlashPlayerPlugin_.....exe *32 (both shown in printscreen below):

Those *32 are normal...they're 32-bit processes on a 64-bit machine.

As for IE try to reset it one more time.

I tried the reset again, but it still gets the black background on IE when adding a new browser tab. I even tried removing IE back down to 8. Then my system did it's own upgrade back to IE 10. But still getting the black background screen.

YES! Changed the color theme and that fixed it! Hallelujah!
