My sound doesn't work

OK Thank you, and should I use Live Update? I don't know what to do at this point because when I search it, I click the downloads tab, and I see Bios, Driver, Utility, Manual. I am guessing I should just do Driver but I don't know either that or Live Update.

OK well I am currently at my dad's house, and when I called my brother to check on the Live Update, because I left it on overnight, it said Now Loading. I left it on overnight because I didn't want to wait when I got back home. I think that 10 hours is more than enough to download some drivers. Unless if 4 years of updates is that big, I don't think that should happen. I have never updated my Mobo since it was reinstalled 8 months ago.

Looks like there`s a problem with the live update then.

Maybe it`d be better to just download the chipset drivers manually, then install them.

Ok well I tried Live Update on IE and it worked. I installed all the chipset drivers and I still have no sound. I don't know if I mentioned this, but I had it since the problem, if I turn the volume knob I hear a sound like someone is rubbing their microphone and you can hear it. It only happens while it's turning, otherwise it just doesn't make any sound at all.

Mmm, that`s not good.

Have you tried a different pair of speakers, just to rule out a problem with your current speakers.

You might also want to consider moving your sound card to another pci slot.

I`m not sure what`s causing your problem to be honest, but it`s starting to look like some kind of hardware problem, possibly with the sound card itself.

Thanks for that suggestion, it fixed my problem... Apparently I'm ****ING RETARDED because I have 4 Speaker Hubs, and 1 Mic Hub, and apparently the speaker doesn't work in the mic hub.... sorry about all this ruckus... me and my wacky antics man I'm so sorry but you fixed my problem, I tried all the speaker hubs before but I guess I skipped the working one... sorry.. I'm a retard. At least my drivers are up to date now huh... lol
The driver cleaner screwed up the drivers, I reinstalled, it worked, but it was in the wrong slot so I didn't think it worked.
