A company called Arkami, Inc. has taken to Kickstarter with hopes of funding their secure Bluetooth / USB storage drive designed to help users keep track of the growing number of accounts and passwords associated with personal information online.

It’s called myIDkey and it uses biometrics in the form of a fingerprint to keep your information secure. The flash drive can be customized with multiple finger swipes or tap sequences to add an additional layer of security.

The drive includes a microphone used for voice searches to quickly and easily locate whatever login credentials you are searching for. Of course, it’s not limited to just login information as the myIDkey can store bank account details, passport or even drivers’ license data. Whatever you search for will show up on the customizable OLED display that’s said to be easy to read regardless of your environment.

The device can wirelessly connect to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth or you can simply plug it into your computer’s USB port. When connected, myIDkey will autofill your login credentials for any site you visit. Using the myIDkey app, you can even have the device generate unique passwords for you that are likely more difficult to crack than a basic phrase or series of numbers that most people come up with on their own.

In the event that your device is stolen, you can remotely wipe it or have it set to delete data after multiple failed login attempts.

Arkami Inc. needs $150,000 to fund the project. With 29 days left to do, they are already nearly halfway to their goal with more than $65,000 pledged. A pledge of $79 will ensure you’re one of the first to get a drive when they start shipping in September.

If it integrated with Lastpass I'd be interested, but there is no way I'm going to manage two password vaults. I wonder if they are working on that (I don't have time to go read about it at kickstarter right now)
