Need help downloading drivers for this notebook

Is there any tag on the computer with a model number? If you can't identify the model there MAY be a "backdoor" solution... If we can download the chipset drivers then a network driver you might be able to use a tool like DriverEasy to locate the other drivers (but you need that working network connection to use it)

1. Your CPU-Z link in post #1 shows Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset. The Intel download link for that chipset is here

2. I might be able to figure out your network driver if you List Problem Devices
  • Make sure devices are connected and powered on
  • Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
  • Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
  • If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
  • On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so

You''ll need to copy/paste onto a USB drive or something to post all the cryptic strings it shows i'll need to see to give it a shot

Hi, used Unknown Devices and here's what i found

Base System Devices = JMicron Technology Corp
Ethernet Controller = JMicron Technology Corp
Network Controller = Ralink Technology Corp

Do you know if you have two ethernet adapters (and LAN ports) on that machine?? (I'm guessing is the case based on your data)

Let's see if we can get one of LAN connections installed and working first.

I think this is a JMicron Fast Ethernet Adapter. Some more chasing down pointed me to this driver. I also looked in the driver's installation file and the Hardware ID is a match. Still, best to create a system restore point before installing it
Code:
Ethernet Controller PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_0260&SUBSYS_0260197B&REV_02\4&335E5CC8&0&05E0

To test, check if you have 2 different LAN ports on that computer and test with each one.

/* EDIT */
Looks like Ralink is the Wireless Adapter so you'd only have one LAN port.. which makes more sense as i now remembered this is on a laptop :D
